Melba Bounds, age 74 of Nashville, Arkansas passed away, Monday, January
6, 2014 in Nashville. She was born June 28, 1939 in Doyle Community, to the late Coy Lee and Angie Rike
Hutson. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Nashville. Melba worked to promote gospel music
all of her life. Starting with Stamps Music Company and Stamps Baxter Music (Dallas, Texas) and Vaughn
Publishing (Cleveland, Tennessee). While serving as president of Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana
State Singing Conventions and the National Singing Conventions which she brought to Nashville, Arkansas.
She
was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bounds 12 years ago. Her survivors include; 3 sisters,
Dolores and husband Clark Davis of Nashville, Arkansas Pat and husband Randy Boor of Nashville,
Arkansas Shelia and husband Ken Kinslow of Nashville, Arkansas 1 Niece, Tonya and husband Mark
Thomas of Cabot, Arkansas 3 nephews, Randy and wife Sharron Ray of Magnolia, Arkansas Terry and
wife Becky Ray of Nashville, Arkansas Kory Kinslow of Denton, Texas And a host of other family
and friends.
Services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 2 pm. at First Baptist Church in Nashville
with Kevin Sartain and David Blasé officiating. Interment will follow in Avery's Chapel Cemetery. The
family will receive friends on Wednesday night from 5 to 7 pm at Nashville Funeral Home. Memorials may
be made to First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
