About Edmund Murrell:

There is an Edmond Murrell in the 1840 Census, TN, Haywood Co., which may be this Edmund Murrell. It lists: male 30-39, 2; male 5-9, 1; male under 5, 1; female 20-29, 1.
................................................................................

Edmund Murrell apparently moved his family to Texas from Tennessee around 1844.
................................................................................

A will of George Martin of Harrison Co., TX, dated 19 February 1846, lists a daughter, Sarah (who was by that time deceased) as one of his children. The will mentioned as Sarah's heirs three sons - Robert Murrell, William Murrell, and Edmund Murrell, Jr. This will provides the evidence that this Sarah Martin was the first wife of Edmund Murrell, Sr.

About Catherine Nolands(?):

Name looks like "Cate" on 1850 Census.

The 1850 Census shows a female named "M. Nolands", age 7, living with the Murrells. I believe that she is a daughter of Catherine from a former marriage. Other sources mention a "Mary Amanda" who was Catherine's daughter, and state that she married William Munden.
